Paint Protection Film in Bluffdale, Utah.

Utah roads are hard on paint. Between I-15 gravel, canyon rock, winter salt, and the occasional rogue highway debris, even a brand-new car can pick up rock chips and scratches within a few months of ownership. Paint Protection Film stops that before it starts.

PPF is a thick, optically clear TPU film applied directly over your vehicle's factory paint. It absorbs impacts that would otherwise chip, scratch, or etch the clear coat — and when those impacts leave light marks on the film itself, the self-healing top layer reflows under heat (from the sun, from warm water, or from a heat gun) and the marks disappear. The paint underneath stays perfect.

The real benefit isn't protection today — it's resale value in five years. A car with factory paint intact is worth thousands more than the same car with rock chips across the hood and bumper. PPF is the only product that actually prevents that damage, rather than trying to fix it afterward.

At our Bluffdale shop, we install Ghost Films PPF — a premium TPU-based film built for clarity, hydrophobic performance, and long-term durability. We offer four coverage levels, from a simple Clear Bra on high-impact areas up to full-body coverage that protects every painted panel. We also install windshield skin, a dedicated protective film for the front glass that stops stone chips before they crack your windshield.

Every install is done by certified technicians with full edge-wrap technique, meaning the film tucks behind panels instead of sitting on top. Every package carries a manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking, and delamination, so the protection you pay for today holds up for the long haul.

Whether you're protecting a new purchase, a long-term keeper, or a luxury build that needs to stay flawless, we'll match the right coverage to how you drive and how long you plan to keep the car.

Clear BRA

From $1,250

The right way to get protected for the right price. Clear gloss PPF is applied over the highest impact areas to protect the most vulnerable panels on your vehicle from the most aggressive of road debris.

Covers the full front bumper, 1/3 of the hood, and 1/3 of the front fenders.

Full Front

From $1,850

There’s a reason that this is the most popular option. This coveras the entire front end of your vehicle with clear gloss, self healing PPF. This takes care of the highest impact areas and then some, including the noticeably pricey bits.

We’re talking full front bumper, front sensors, headlights, full hood, full front fenders, and the mirror caps for good measure.

Trac Pack

From $2,250

This one is for the true driver. This includes everything in FullFront, PLUS the A pillar up to the top of the windshield, rocker panels, and ¼ of the rear door/quarter panel. This is definitely perfect for the highway cruiser where stray rocks always find their way out the back of the front tire and into the sides of the vehicle. Stress no more, as this option has you covered.

Common Questions About Paint Protection Film

  • PPF and ceramic coating are often confused, but they do completely different jobs. PPF is a thick, physical film — think of it as armor that sits on top of your paint and absorbs real impacts like rock chips, road debris, and light scratches. Ceramic coating is a chemical layer that bonds to the paint and adds hydrophobic properties, UV resistance, and an easier-to-clean surface, but it's only a few microns thick and offers almost no protection against physical damage. If a rock hits your hood, ceramic coating won't help. PPF will. Most of our clients who want maximum protection end up doing both — PPF on high-impact areas, ceramic coating over everything else.

  • A quality PPF install typically holds up for 7-10 years under normal conditions. The Ghost Films PPF we install carries a manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking, bubbling, and delamination. How long yours lasts depends on a few things: how often the car's exposed to direct sun, whether it lives outside or in a garage, and how it's washed and maintained. Garage-kept vehicles can push past 10 years easily. Daily drivers parked outside year-round usually land closer to 7-8.

  • No, as long as the paint is in good condition when the film goes on. When PPF is removed properly — typically with heat and a slow pull — it comes off cleanly and leaves the factory paint underneath untouched. The one caveat: if your paint is already failing (cracking clear coat, previous bodywork, or touched-up areas that weren't done professionally), removal can pull some of that damaged paint up with it. On healthy factory paint, PPF actually preserves it better than leaving the paint exposed to road debris for years.

  • Depends on how you use the vehicle. A Clear Bra (front bumper, partial hood, partial fenders) is the minimum and handles most of the rock chips a typical driver sees. A Full Front adds the complete hood, full fenders, mirror caps, and headlights — which is where most of our clients land, because it eliminates the visible edge line on the hood. TracPack extends into the A-pillars and rocker panels, which matters if you drive highway miles and take a lot of stones kicked up from the front tires. Full Body is for people who plan to keep the car long-term, have a high-value build, or simply want zero paint exposure. The right answer usually comes down to how long you're keeping the car and how much you drive it on unprotected roads.

  • Windshield skin is a clear protective film applied directly to the front windshield. It stops stone chips and small impacts from reaching the glass - the same impacts that otherwise turn into a $400+ windshield replacement or a spreading crack. It's especially worth it if you drive a lot of highway miles in Utah, where stones kicked up from I-15 traffic are one of the most common causes of windshield damage. We install it as a standalone service or bundled with any of our PPF packages. If you've replaced a windshield before, you already know the answer to whether it's worth it.

  • Yes, with a few guidelines. Hand wash is always best — skip the automatic car washes with rotating brushes because they can scuff the finish, especially on matte or satin PPF. Use a pH-neutral soap and a soft mitt. Wait at least 7 days after install before washing so the adhesive has time to fully cure. Avoid pressure washing within 6 inches of the film edges for the first two weeks. Other than that, treat it like regular paint — you can wax it, seal it, or top it with ceramic coating if you want even more protection.
